Our Community Education

Through our commitment for mental health advocacy, we offer a variety of free and for-service programs and workshops designed to build our community’s capacity to support youth mental health.

REGISTRATION IS OPEN for fall workshops - Mental Health First Aid

  • Whether you want to strengthen your knowledge and confidence about mental health, debrief a challenging situation, or take part in a specific training, our educational stream may be the perfect fit for you:

    • in-person or virtual facilitation.

    • initial consultation to discuss learning objectives.

    • access to resources and materials.

    • pre and post surveys to determine needs and assess outcomes (optional).

  • We offer two mental health first aid certifications accredited by the Mental Health Commission of Canada: Adults who Interact with Youth and Supporting Youth.

    Both courses are designed for members of the public who interact with 12-24 year-olds (although the information and skills learned are applicable to all ages).

  • We welcome opportunities to highlight the importance of youth mental health and share ideas about how we can all contribute to building strong, healthy, resilient communities for young people.

    The SYC team has provided session workshops and keynote addresses at a variety of conferences, training events and AGMs.
