Petra Eperjesi, Psychotherapist
she/her,RP-Q
Hello! My name is Petra Eperjesi (she/her).
I am a therapist who specializes in compassionate care for the perinatal and postpartum experience. I have three young sons, including a set of twins, and I intimately understand perinatal anxiety and depression, and the impact of trauma in those difficult first years of parenthood.
I made the move to psychotherapy to connect with and support families therapeutically after working in education for a decade — first as an elementary classroom teacher, then as a Forest School educator, and finally as a facilitator/instructor in adult education. Through that work, I have had the benefit of interacting with children and families from a variety of backgrounds.
My approach
I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive behaviour therapy (m-CBT), narrative therapy, brief solution focused therapy, emotionally-focused therapy, and others, depending on the preferences and goals of the person I’m supporting.
Consistent for each client is my commitment to a person-centered and feminist approach. This means I will never judge or criticize you. I won’t tell you what to do or try to “fix” you/your problems, but I will accompany and support you through the challenges you’re facing, help you identify the factors within and out of your control, and move towards the life you want as you reconnect with or discover your innate dignity and capacity for wellness.
