Hannah Altimas, Counsellor
they/them/her, BSW, RSW, MSW

Hi - I am Hannah. I have had the pleasure of working collaboratively with youth in non traditional therapeutic settings for about 15 years. I prioritize getting to know the folx I work with, as I strongly believe youth are the experts in their own lives and know what they need. I am strengths based and solution focused, looking to empower the youth I work with to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. I value authenticity, and work with youth to find their power and path amidst challenges and systems that are oppressive.

I am anti-racist and anti-colonial in my personal and professional life and look to foster counseling relationships that work towards creating a better future. While I work with youth struggling with any of life’s issues, be it anxiety, trauma, transition, depression, overwhelming emotions, or day to day challenges, I also look to highlight underlying issue like ageism, classism, ableism, racism, anti-lgbtqia2+ exploring the ways in which they influence us, our society, and our ability to make change.

I live on unceded and stolen Anishinabek Algonquin Land. I am active in my work to decolonize myself, the social work profession, and our society. Please feel free to reachout should you have questions about what these things look like in my day-to-day-life.
